Tiering target accounts

A ~360-word help-center article for VPs of marketing explaining how to upload or paste a target-account list into Tipoff, get T1/T2/T3 tiers scored against their ICP with confidence scores and reasons, and act on each tier.

ABM works when your team spends its hours on the accounts most likely to buy. Tiering takes a flat target-account list and sorts it into T1/T2/T3 against your ICP — so you know where to point budget and SDR effort first, and why.

Start with a list

Bring up to 30 accounts at a time. Upload a CSV or paste them straight in. A domain per account is enough (acme.com); a company name works too. Tipoff enriches each one from its shared data pool — industry, size, and how many active buying signals it's showing right now — before scoring, so you don't need a clean, fully-filled sheet.

Run the tiering

  1. Open your target list (or paste it to the agent) and choose Tier accounts.
  2. Confirm the ICP to score against. By default Tipoff uses your workspace ICP; you can also describe it inline ("we sell X to Y") for a one-off run.
  3. Run it. Each account comes back with a tier, a 0–100 score, and a one-line reason, sorted best-first.

How the tiers are decided

Every account is scored on two things: fit against your ICP (industry, size, the situation your best customers are in) and intent (whether it's already showing active signals).

The 0–100 score is your confidence read — higher means a stronger, better-evidenced match, and thin firmographics pull it down. The reason line explains the call in plain language (e.g. "Mid-market fintech, hiring for the role your product replaces"), so you can trust it or overrule it.

Act on the tiers

Route T1 to sales for immediate outreach, drop T2 into nurture, and leave T3 to monitor. Turn on enroll to keep watching every account for new signals (job changes, funding, news) so a T2 or T3 surfaces the moment it heats up.

Tiering and enrichment draw Tipoff credits; ongoing monitoring uses credits as signals arrive.
