Best practice: the weekly signal review
A ~350-word help-center best-practice article for demand-gen managers on running Tipoff's weekly signal review loop to keep the radar sharp.
Tipoff gets sharper the more you use it. Every signal you qualify or reject teaches the corpus what a good account looks like for you, which tightens next week's tiering. The habit that makes this compound is a short, standing weekly review — 20 to 30 minutes on the same day each week. Here's the loop that demand-gen teams run.
1. Read the new signals
Open your signals view and scan what's surfaced since last week — job posts, filings, news, community activity, and any companies your reveal pixel caught visiting. Sort by tier so the strongest fits sit at the top. Read for the why: the signal tells you what changed and gives you a reason to reach out.
2. Qualify or reject to tune the ICP
This is the step most people skip, and it's the one that matters. For each account, confirm it fits your ICP or reject it. Rejections are not wasted clicks — they pull the corpus away from lookalikes you don't want, so future scoring stops surfacing them. A few honest rejections a week noticeably improves tier accuracy.
3. Push your T1s onward
For accounts that qualify as Tier 1, enrich contacts and send them where your team works — a HubSpot or Pipedrive list, a Prosp or Instantly sequence, or a Slack channel for reps. Enrichment runs through a cost-capped waterfall, so batching your T1 push once a week keeps credit use predictable rather than enriching one-off all day.
4. Watch the digest
Between reviews, let the digest do the watching. It rolls up new signals and tier changes so nothing goes stale, and it's your cue if something hot appears mid-week and can't wait for the next session.
Why the loop works
Read, qualify, push, repeat. Each pass feeds the corpus better examples, so tiering gets more precise, fewer junk accounts reach your reps, and your credits go toward companies actually worth enriching. The radar is only as sharp as the feedback you give it — the weekly review is that feedback.
