Troubleshooting common issues

A ~350-word Q&A-format help-center article covering the four most common Tipoff issues: no signals, empty enrichment, disconnected integrations, and exhausted credits.

Most issues in Tipoff trace back to one of a few root causes: an empty or too-narrow setup, budget and credit limits, or an integration that lost its connection. Use the questions below to self-diagnose before reaching out.

Why aren't any signals showing?

Signals only appear when Tipoff has accounts to watch and a definition of what "good" looks like.

  1. Confirm your corpus has accounts loaded. Tipoff tiers accounts against your ICP corpus, so an empty or tiny corpus produces no matches.
  2. Check that you have active watches. If no signal types (job posts, filings, news, community activity) are switched on, nothing is being monitored.
  3. Widen the window. Very tight filters or a narrow date range can hide real activity, especially for smaller account lists.
  4. Give it time. New watches need a collection cycle to run before results populate.

Enrichment returned nothing — what happened?

Two common reasons:

An integration says "not connected"

Reconnect from Settings → Integrations and check:

  1. The API key or token is still valid (keys get rotated or revoked on the provider's side).
  2. The required scopes are granted — a connection can authenticate but still lack the permission needed to sync.
  3. Re-authorize if you recently changed your plan or seat in HubSpot, Pipedrive, Prosp, Instantly, Slack, or Zapier.

After reconnecting, run a manual sync to confirm data flows.

I've used up my credits

Usage is metered in Tipoff credits by capability (enrichment, reveal, signal collection). When the balance hits zero, those capabilities pause. Review the usage breakdown to see which capability consumed the most, then top up or adjust your watches and enrichment caps to stretch the remainder.
