Connecting outreach tools safely

A ~350-word help-center article for demand-gen users on safely connecting Prosp and Instantly to Tipoff, covering bring-your-own-key setup, how staging works, and the rule that Tipoff never auto-sends.

Tipoff can push the accounts and contacts it surfaces straight into your outreach tools, so a warm signal becomes a ready-to-work sequence without copy-paste. The connection is built around one principle: Tipoff prepares the outreach, but you decide when it leaves the building. Here's how to connect Prosp and Instantly safely.

Bring your own key

Tipoff uses your own account for every send, so messages go out under your domain, your sender reputation, and your sending limits.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations and choose Prosp or Instantly.
  2. Paste the API key from that tool's own settings. Tipoff stores it encrypted and uses it only to stage contacts on your behalf.
  3. Map your Tipoff fields (company, contact, signal, tier) to the campaign fields you want populated.
  4. Save. Tipoff confirms the connection by reading back your available campaigns and senders.

Because you supply the key, you can revoke access at any time from the provider side, and nothing sends without a live, valid credential.

How staging works

When you send accounts to an outreach tool, Tipoff stages them rather than launching them.

You can review the staged list, edit copy, remove anyone who doesn't fit, and confirm your sender before a single message moves.

The safety rule: Tipoff never auto-sends

This is the guardrail that never bends. Tipoff will enrich, tier, and stage — but it will not start a campaign, resume a paused one, or trigger a send for you. That final action always lives in the outreach tool, and you press it.

The reason is simple: your sending reputation and your prospects' inbox experience are too important to hand to automation. Staging keeps a human in the loop on every first touch.
